The Cape Cod is buzzing with activity this summer.
In fact, the city is already ranked in the top ten tourist destinations worldwide, according to Travel + Leisure.
But the locals aren’t exactly celebrating.
And for those who are, the locals are not pleased.
The Cape Cod Tourism Department is investigating after a group of people posted pictures of themselves on social media wearing fake facial hair.
The photos were posted on the social media site Facebook and show two people who look just like Cape Cod residents.
One person says they were in town to celebrate a birthday and the other posted a picture with the caption, “I went to a bar and it was packed with Cape Cod locals.”
A spokesperson for the Cape Cod Department of Tourism said that they are looking into the matter and are taking the matter seriously.
The department is also investigating after one of the people in the photo posted on Facebook said they were looking to hire a boat to cross the ocean.
The spokesperson told CNN that it was not clear whether the two people were in the same boat or in different boats.
Cape Cod is not the only city that has a bad reputation.
Other cities in the United States are also experiencing a surge in tourism this summer, according the American Society of Travel Agents.
The number of visitors to the United Kingdom has dropped in the last few months, according Toon Air, a British travel company.
They say the dip in numbers may have something to do with the summer’s heat and lack of rainfall.
