It’s no secret that Russia has an active and well-funded election meddling operation.
The U.S. has been unable to verify this since early 2016 when it was revealed that Russian hackers penetrated Democratic National Committee computers and stole information about the presidential election.
Russia is believed to be the primary reason behind the breach.
But even though there are reports of Russian hackers attempting to influence the 2016 election, the U.N. has made it clear that Russia does not need to engage in election meddling.
Instead, the United States should focus on preventing Russia from influencing the next election.
