China is the most expensive country in the region to visit in terms of the cost per person, according to data released by the Economist Intelligence Unit.
The average tourist to China, where the average annual budget is $1,700, spends around $1.9 million on accommodation.
But that’s only half the cost of the most luxurious destination in the Asia-Pacific region.
The second most expensive destination, Thailand, is followed by Singapore and Hong Kong.
