Peru’s tourism and tourism-related economic activity is the fastest growing sector in the country, driven by its proximity to China, the first nation to host the Olympics and the largest tourism destination in the world.
Peruvian tourism grew by 6.5% in the past year, according to the tourism ministry, which noted that the country’s tourism industry was one of the fastest-growing sectors in the South Asian nation.
The country, with a population of just over 12 million people, is the third-largest exporter of tourists, after China and India.
According to the ministry, Peruvians spent $4.6 billion on tourism last year, up from $3.7 billion in 2016.
Peruvian Tourism Minister Enrique Garcia told CNN Philippines that China is the country that most influenced Peruvian tourist spending.
He added that the Chinese government has invested in tourism facilities in Peruvian cities and provinces, as well as on the development of the Peruvian economy.
“The Chinese government is investing in the development, expansion, and improvement of the tourism industry in Peru, and this is the way it will continue,” Garcia said.
“They are investing in our tourism industry, and that will be a success.
The Chinese government will support our country with investments in tourism.”
Peruvian Tourism Minister Esteban L. García said that Chinese investment in the Perús tourism industry has been a catalyst for the region’s economic development.
“There is an investment, and there is a boom in tourism, and the boom is in Perú,” García told CNN.
“But we also have to be careful because if you look at the data, this is only the tip of the iceberg.
It is only 10% of the total tourism activity in Peru.
And it’s growing at a very fast pace.”
Peru has been experiencing a boom of its own in the last few years, and has become a major destination for Chinese tourists.
It’s a trend that García says is also attracting more Chinese visitors, as China’s economy grows and its population grows.
China is one of Peru’s top destinations for Chinese tourist, with the country hosting an estimated 100 million Chinese tourists, and more than 70 million Chinese residents.
Garcia said that Peruvias tourism sector is growing, with an estimated 5.4 million Chinese visitors visiting the country last year.
“We have an influx of Chinese tourists in the tourism sector.
China has the opportunity to help us with our tourism sector,” Garcia added.
China and Peru have been competing to host both the Summer Olympics and other international events.
China, which hosts the games this year, has recently invested heavily in infrastructure projects to attract Chinese tourists to the country.
The Games are set to take place in 2018.
Peru hosts the Summer Olympic Games in 2019.
“This is a big opportunity for us to build the economy in Peru and to make a big impact on the tourism in the region,” Garcias said.
Garcias added that Peru is also a destination for American tourists, with more than 25 million Americans living in Peru at the time of the Games.
